ACTIVE BALLOT CLUB ANNUAL SWEEPSTAKES

Sponsor

The sponsor of the Active Ballot Club Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) is UFCW Local Union 1059, 4150 E. Main Street, Columbus, OH 43213. 

Who May Enter

The Sweepstakes is open to any individual who is all of the following:

  • A resident of any of the fifty (50) states of the United States or the District of Columbia; 

  • A U.S. citizen or lawful permanent U.S. resident; and

  • A member in good standing of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (“UFCW”) during the Promotion Period. 

Who May Not Enter

  • Employees of the UFCW International Union or UFCW affiliates, their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling, and their respective spouses), and persons living in the employee’s same household, whether related or not, are not eligible to enter.

  • Individuals who are not members in good standing of UFCW. 

  • INELIGIBLE INDIVIDUALS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ENTER THE SWEEPSTAKES.  IF AN INELIGIBLE INDIVIDUAL ENTERS THE SWEEPSTAKES, THEIR ENTRY WILL BE REJECTED.  NO PRIZE WILL BE AWARDED TO AN INELIGIBLE ENTRANT. 

OFFER IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

How to Enter

  • Eligible UFCW members who complete and submit to UFCW Local 1059 an Authorization for UFCW Political Checkoff form authorizing their employer to deduct at least 25¢ per week from their paycheck as a contribution to ABC.

  • In lieu of agreeing to contribute at least 25¢ per week to ABC eligible UFCW members who submit a postcard to UFCW Local 1059 during the Promotion Period. This method of entry requires submission of the eligible participant’s first and last name, mailing address, phone number, and worksite. 

  • The Promotion Period will begin at 12:00:00 am on January 1 and shall end at 11:59:59 pm on October 31 each year. 

  • Only one entry per eligible participant will be accepted. 

  • Each participant acknowledges that they have read, understand and agree to be bound by these Official Rules. By submitting an entry, you warrant that your entry complies with all the requirements set out in these Official Rules.

Prize

  • By November 30 each year, UFCW Local 1059 will select one (1) eligible participant at random to win $1,000.  

  • The retail value of the prize is $1,000. 

  • UFCW Local 1059 will contact the winner via the phone number associated with the winning entry. 

  • In the event the winner is, at the time of delivery, no longer employed at the worksite through which they entered the Sweepstakes, UFCW Local 1059 reserves the right to select an alternate winner or to not award the prize.

  • All prizes won by minors will be awarded to a parent or legal guardian.

  • The winner hereby grants UFCW Local 1059, as well as ABC and the UFCW International Union, the right to use their name and likeness in promotional materials relating to the Sweepstakes.

The prize is not transferable, nor are there substitutions or cash redemptions, except at UFCW Local 1059’s discretion if the prize becomes unavailable.

Chances of Winning

  • NO PURCHASE, PAYMENT OR CONTRIBUTION IS NECESSARY. 

  • A PURCHASE, PAYMENT OR CONTRIBUTION WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

  • The odds of winning are dependent on the number of entries received.

Winner

Only the winner will be notified of the Sweepstakes outcome, but you may request a winner’s list by sending a written request to UFCW Local 1059 at the address stated above, which is received by UFCW Local 1059 no later than February 28 following the drawing. 

Other Important Information

  • UFCW Local 1059’s decisions are final and binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes.

  • Entries become the property of UFCW Local 1059 and will not be returned.

  • UFCW Local 1059 is not liable for lost, late, illegible, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, or incorrect entries.

  • No mechanically reproduced entries or faxes will be accepted.

All taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.

UFCW Local 1059 is not responsible for any tampering with this Sweepstakes (e.g., hackers, viruses, automated entry devices, and other). UFCW Local 1059 reserves the right to terminate or modify the Sweepstakes at any time in case of technical failures or other issues outside of its control. UFCW Local 1059 also reserves the right to disqualify anyone who violates these Official Rules.

The information UFCW Local 1059 collects about entrants through this Sweepstakes will be used to initiate requests to contribute to ABC or to increase contributions to ABC, if applicable, and for the purposes of this Sweepstakes. In addition, all participants may be added to UFCW Local 1059, ABC’s and UFCW’s email distribution lists. Participants may unsubscribe at any time by following the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email from UFCW Local 1059, ABC or UFCW. All information collected via this Sweepstakes will be governed by the UFCW’s privacy policy.   

  • By entering this Sweepstakes, all entrants agree to release and hold harmless UFCW Local 1059, ABC, UFCW, and their officers, directors, employees and agents, from all claims, losses, damages and liabilities arising out of their participation in this Sweepstakes and the acceptance of any prize awarded hereunder.

  • This Sweepstakes shall be governed by the laws of Ohio without regard to its conflict of law rules.  The forum for any dispute shall be in Ohio.

The sponsor of the Active Ballot Club Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) is UFCW Local Union 1059, 4150 E. Main Street, Columbus, OH 43213. 

Who May Enter

The Sweepstakes is open to any individual who is all of the following:

  • Only one entry per eligible participant will be accepted per month. 

  • Participants may not win more than one (1) monthly prize during a calendar year (January 1 – December 31).

  • Each participant acknowledges that they have read, understand and agree to be bound by these Official Rules. By submitting an entry, you warrant that your entry complies with all the requirements set out in these Official Rules.

Prize

  • By end of the first week of each month, UFCW Local 1059 will select four (4) eligible participants at random to each win a $50 American Express gift card.  

  • The retail value of the prize is $50. 

  • UFCW Local 1059 will contact the winner via the phone number associated with the winning entry. 

  • In the event a winner is, at the time of delivery, no longer employed at the worksite through which they entered the Sweepstakes, UFCW Local 1059 reserves the right to select an alternate winner or to not award the prize.

  • All prizes won by minors will be awarded to a parent or legal guardian.

  • The winner hereby grants UFCW Local 1059, as well as ABC and the UFCW International Union, the right to use their name and likeness in promotional materials relating to the Sweepstakes.
